Performing Arts Return to Art Center in 2015
The Performing Arts Group at the Fayetteville-Lincoln County Arts Center kicked off their new year last Thursday with a rousing show in spite of the bitter cold. Ron Hackett, the show’s host, started the show with three jazz guitar instrumentals accompanied by drummer Ron Adcock. Next up was Rose Pyatt to play three of her original songs with Ron Adcock on drums. Rose has been a regular performer at many of our shows.
Newcomer George Hensley took the stage to play three of his original songs. George’s friend, and another regular performer, Robert Foster was up next. Tristan "Tree" Hepe, Kameron Jones, Josh Passon, and Zack Huitt also graced our stage playing a variety of original songs and cover tunes. Having finished the list of performers early, each player had an opportunity to play two additional songs in our encore round.
Ron Hackett’s co-host, Taylor Hoch, was unable to attend because of illness. “We wish her a speedy recovery and look forward to her return next week,” said Ron Hackett.
The basement seating at the Art Center has been expanded with two new couches donated by Mark Kelso. “There’s plenty of comfortable seating for our audience,” said Ron Adcock. The Art Center basement offers a cozy and intimate environment for our guests, and an encouraging and friendly venue for our performers. “It’s like having a show in a large living room,” said Ron Hackett.
