Open Mic, April 30, 2015

Food and Fun

“Thanks to Robert Foster and Peggy Turner, two of our most faithful attendees of the weekly open mic night, the potluck food table that we have every week practically sagged under the weight of all the snacks. Everyone who couldn’t make the show last night missed out on stuffed mushrooms, cheese and crackers, fresh fruit, candy, cake and all sorts of delicious hors d'oeuvres! It was really a treat!” said co-host Taylor Hoch.

While partaking of the wonderful food, the audience enjoyed a terrific show. Co-host Ron Hackett opened the show with a set of jazz show tunes. He was followed by a newcomer to the open mic night, Elliot Hill. Elliot played an alternative cover and then two of his original alternative songs. Rose Pyatt, another regular open mic attendee was up next, and she played a set of her original contemporary Christian music. After Rose, Robert Foster played a set of classic Americana tunes. Co-host Taylor Hoch was up next. She played a set of her original Americana music. After Taylor’s set, there was a short break so that the audience and performers could better enjoy the delicious hors d'oeuvres, and then the encore round started. All the night’s performers got to return to the stage and do another set for the audience.
